ABOUT
Short bio
Christophe Cellier is a French artist.
Born in Amiens in 1968.
Lives and works in Tourcoing.
Cellier’s practice destabilises the real, moving beyond conventional forms to allow interference to emerge through glitch, drift, residue, and spectral traces. In his transmedia work, the image ceases to be a fixed representation, becoming instead a haunting presence as a shimmer of memory and disappearance.
Drawing on photography, painting, video art, performative paintings, and immersive environments, he constructs fragmentary narratives in which memory erodes, presence flickers, and visibility collapses. His work inhabits the thresholds between virtual and material, presence and absence, figure and dissolution. Rather than merely depicting the world, he fractures perception and summons a poetics of uncertainty, where the visible perpetually teeters on the edge of vanishing.
