Attic's memories (1986)

Location

Loos

Attic's memories retrospectively refers to a body of work connected to my first studio: the attic of the family home. This space, arranged by my father and equipped in particular with running water, provided a favourable environment for pictorial and sculptural experimentation. I worked with the objects at hand, subjecting them to acts of transformation and symbolic sacrifice: a 1930s crystal radio set, tin cans sealed with cement, and a coffee percolator topped with a creepers, a unifying emblem for a musical community shaped by the cold wave movement of the 1980s.
