Kobold Project (1994)
Location
Tourcoing
Named after a demon from Germanic mythology, Kobold emerged from a grid matrix devised using a trapezoidal module inspired by the void between the columns of the Parthenon. From this structure, a jagged line was extracted and enlarged to form a monumental floor piece (approximately 6 × 3 m), at once irregular and imbued with symbolism. This hybrid creature incorporates technical line work and trigger words drawn from Jungian psychoanalysis, selected for their personal resonance. By inscribing my own silhouette within it, I transformed the whole into a personal, dreamlike cartography, where architectural references, psychological motifs, and signs borrowed from airport runways and dressmaking patterns converge.
