North (1990)

I have never regarded northern France as a familiar environment. The places I frequent are largely deserted, perhaps due to their desolate and unsettling atmosphere. I often imagine scenes of conflict unfolding amidst these ever-changing industrial landscapes. A few names linger, etched into the bricks, stone, and concrete of structures now fated for demolition. As a result, I find myself living among fragments of scattered memories, which I gather gradually as I move through these spaces.
