Uncanny summer

I wander through the summer of uncanny dread, a kingdom of shadows where the human form trembles at the edge of its reflection, where the line between flesh and fiction begins to dissolve.
The heat is still, but nothing's warm
Figures flicker, half-reborn
Eyes like screens and smiles decay
In the static light of day
Uncanny summer, haunting me
Ghosts in skin and circuitry
No more truth, no more lies
Only faces in disguise
A whisper cracks the silent glass
Time melts slow, then fails to pass
Touch is distant, breath is thin
Are you out there, or within?
Uncanny summer, holding tight
To the flicker of the night
Dreams collapse, then reappear
In a loop of coded fear
Mirrors sigh and wires hum
I don’t know where I’ve come from
Bodies shift, and thoughts erase
I'm dissolving into place
Uncanny summer, cold and near
I can’t touch what once was clear
In the shimmer, I remain
Half alive and half in pain
Perplexity...
Perplexity...
Perplexity...
